Kevin Conneff ,
Kevin was born in Donore, a rare musical suburb
of Dublin and one of the city's most historical
places. At first a jazz fan, Kevin discovered
traditional music in his teens, and soon learnt
to play the bodhrán and developed his singing,
particularly sean nós, influenced by Paddy
Tunney and Christy Moore.
Joined the Chieftains group in 1976 .
Kevin's singing is in the old style which reflects
interpretation and is generally unaccompanied.
On the bodhrán, he can demonstrate a subtle
rhythm or really heat things up. Kevin has also
released a solo album, 'The Week Before Easter'
Paul McGrattan
Comes from Dublin's northside, has been playing
flute since an early age and is now regarded as
one of the top traditional flute players in Ireland.
His first influence was the South Donegal fiddle
tradition, which he heard on his holidays in the
area as a child, later influences were his uncle
Paddy Treacy, Seán Potts and Sligo flute
player John Egan. As well as a duet album with
Paul O'Shaughnessy "Within a Mile of Dublin'
he has also released a fine solo album 'The Frost
is All Over'. When not performing with the group
Paul spends much of his time teaching the next
generation of flute players.
Gilles Le Bigot
Originating from Saint-Brieuc (Department Côtes
d’Armor), he adopted the guitar in 1972
at the age of 13..He then discovers the Fest-Noz,
at first as a dancer, and later as a musician,
accompanying the group of singers Les Pillotouses
(1976), and then playing with the group GALLORN
(1978). Self-taught man, these two experiences
lead him to adopt the open tuning and to develop
a guitar playing adapted to the Breton music.

Gerry O'Connor
"Sparkling" " Immaculate"
and with "Dazzling Ability" were words
used recently by the national Press to describe
the music of Gerry O'Connor, one of Ireland's
most outstanding fiddle players. His family has
played fiddle for at least four generations and
Gerry is able to draw on this wealth of music
learned from his mother Rose O'Connor Later he
came under the influence of Joe Gardiner the great
Sligo fiddle player, who lived in Dundalk for
many years. Gerry breathes new life and intensity
into many long forgotten tunes from his home area
in the North East of Ireland. His unique personal
style and splendidly fluid bow-hand combined with
technical virtuosity have brought him to concert
stages throughout the world and have earned him
international renown. Over the years Gerry has
brought his vibrant fiddle music to Siberia, Denmark,
Sweden, Italy Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Norway,
Brittany and Spain. www.gerryoconnor.net
